2. Make your guest list early: Knowing your guest count helps determine venue size and costs. If your venue takes up more than 35% of your budget, you’ll likely go over budget.

3. Balance your budget: After setting your budget and guest list, decide if you need to trim your guest count or increase your budget to fit your dream wedding.

4. Read contracts carefully: Always read the fine print so there are no surprises. A planner can help point out hidden costs or red flags.

5. Plan for the weather: Always have a solid backup plan for bad weather, especially in unpredictable locations like Cape Town.

6. DIY with guidance: If you’re planning DIY elements, let your planner guide you on what projects are manageable without causing unnecessary stress.

7. Trust your vendors: Once you’ve booked them, trust your vendors and planner to make your big day everything you dreamed of.

8. Enjoy your day: Remember, the day is about celebrating your love, not just putting on a show. Enjoy it your way!
